The Stark Family has been involved with Indian Motorcycles for over 100 years. Starting in 1918, Charles Stark was an Indian Dealer in Akron, Ohio. His son, Bob Stark, took over the dealership and ran it until 1955.

Bob Stark then moved into aerospace and worked for Hughes Aircraft where he helped our first Lunar Lander land on the moon with project Surveyor. In 1970, there was an over supply of Mechanical Engineers, and he started Starklite Cycle.

After graduating from high school in 1983, Gary Stark, Bob’s son, started working at Starklite while attending college at California State University Long Beach earning his engineering degree. In 2001, Gary took over full time operation of the parts operation.
