This is a very rare motorcycle, produced by the legendary Indian dealer, Sam Pierce. In the registry of American built motorcycles there are two Indian entries, Springfield Massachusetts and El Monte, California. Mr. Pierce had an official manufacturing license and built these motorcycles in 1967 and 1968 in El Monte. He produced these cycles patterned after two factory prototypes built in 1952. They used the 1949-1952 Indian Vertical frames and V-Twin Scout engines. No two motorcycles were identical. Approximately 50 were built with this one being #49. This motorcycle has been judged 1st place in AMCA Junior and Senior classes with a score of 99.5 out of a possible 100.
