1927 Indian Scout
Factory Hill Climber
1927 Indian Scout "OVERHEAD VALVE" Factory Hill Climber -
This bike is approx one of 30 ever built by the Indian factory. It was manufactured
exclusively for hillclimbing. The torque that this hillclimber makes, is incredible
according to people who have ridden one.
This bike does not run on gasoline. It runs on pure
alcohol ! The alcohol tank is pressurized by the hand knob seen in the picture. As the
pressure builds you are able to see it on the gauge on the alcohol tank !
This made one fast and powerful factory race bike !
(Look for a full article and history of these bikes in an upcoming issue
of the "POW-WOW" from the Indian Motorcycle Club of America !)
