| Day 1 Destination Davenport 2001 | |||
The day started early, leaving from Perris Ca. on towards Davenport Iowa. It was very hot all through the desert with temperatures over 110 degrees. Coming up the last hill before entering Nevada, we counted 12 cars disabled on the side of the road with overheating problems The picture above is the first look at the Nevada state line when coming over from California |

The Welcome to Nevada sign - We made our first stop here in Primm Nevada so we could ride the Desperado roller coaster at the Bufflalo Bill Casino. Hopefully it won't be the last fun thing we do on this long trip. |
Las Vegas Looking at the Strip in Las Vegas - Hmmm are we in Egypt with the pyramid?. |
New York City Nope - we must have overshot Davenport and landed in New York City |
Wow this sure is being a whirlwind tour of the world, as we can now see the Eiffel tower. |

Our quick trip through Arizona, where we spend a total of 35 miles before we Enter Utah and decide to spend the evening. It figures that Arizona is looking for every cent, as the weigh station stops us to ask for our permits, and to pay a road fee. In 6 years of going across country Arizona is the only state that has ever asked for road fees! Talk to you tomorrow night! |
