Day 3 - Road Trip 2000 Destination Davenport

Nebraska, A little more water than Wyoming
We'll so far the road trip is going well. We actually met up with another Indian owner who is on his way to Davenport, and had breakfast with him! And now we have a convoy on our way to Davenport!

Also, we met up with the actual Indian Motorcycle Company (or is it HD clone company) trailer at the Flying J truck stop in Wyoming.

New Monument on I-80 in Nebraska
According to the sign, this is the World Famous Arch in Nebraska. It's so famous, we've never heard of it before. However, last year we did see it under construction. Didn't get a chance to stop in and visit, so we don't know what's inside. (Maybe another worlds biggest McDonalds like the one inside a similar arch on the Oklahoma State Turnpike?)

A lone tee-pee
We saw this tee-pee so immediately we started looking for the Indian Motorcycle that the occupants must ride? But they must not have been home, since we didn't see the Indian Motorcycle

Pioneer Village Sign
Pioneer Village is advertised as Nebraska's and Americas  #1 attraction. Needless to say Disneyland doesn't have anything to worry about. However, we did stop their last year, and it was interesting. If your under 20 years of age, don't bother as you will be bored. They did have hundreds of cars on display and several hundred motorcycles including one Indian Chief. It's all together and would make an easy restoration. However, they don't have funds for restoration, they just try to keep their 50,000 displays from deteriating  (sp) which in itself is a major job.

They have have a little bit of everything Americana. From Old telephones, furniture, matchbooks, planes, trains, & automobiles. If you have the time and like looking at old things it is worth a visit.

Passing the Indian Motorcycle Trailer on the road. Remember: It takes more that Skirts & feathers to turn a  pig into an Indian!

We'll that about sums up the days activities. Just a day of driving, and tomorrow we arrive in Davenport Iowa. We should arrive early so we can get a good nights sleep to prepare for the following four days of hard work (yeah right sleep, how can you when the riverboats are a calling just down the street?)
