Davenport '98 Day One

Day one Started out very normal, we were only 4 hours late leaving our shop. Not good but tolerable. Our first stop will be Barstow, where we will meet a Customer, Gary Smalz, and pick up two bikes to take to Davenport to sell..

We were able to meet up with Gary, in Barstow. (Gary Smalz and Frank Garcia discussing the 841) We picked up two bikes, an 841 and a 249 that are both for sale. Suprisingly Gary decided to buy one of the bikes we were taking to Davenport to sell. He ended up purchasing a '51 Chief ! Congratulations on your new bike Gary !. However, this isn't half the story.

Our rental truck was running great in the 110 degree heat going up the bike Cajon Pass. However, when we pulled off in Barstow the truck started missing and left us stranded in the middle of the street. We couldn't get it started. After waiting 1.5 hours the tow truck arrived and took us to the repair shop. After they fiddled around all the parts shops were closed and we couldn't get any parts. We are now 100 miles from home, and staying in a motel ! What a fun day ! :(
Let's pray that day two sees the truck getting fixed and us on the road. The truck appears to stall, but they think it's the plugs, cap, rotor, the morning will tell.

See you tomorrow night for the next update !
