Davenport '98 Day 7
Friday was the first full official day of the Davenport Meet. In our booth we were greeted by many friends from all over the world. Up above is Jim Parker from Melbourne Australia. He's becoming a frequent flyer to the states as this is his second trip in less than a year. He was very impressed with the size of the meet. We also met friends from Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy & almost every state in the United States. All day was almost non-stop talking ! |

Davenport has so many vendors (close to 300), that Starklite wanted to be noticed. We obtained a sky dancer pictured above. This tube would dance in the air up to 50ft above our booth, and could be seen from all over the fairgrounds ! |

Indian enthusiast from Florida, Steve Johnston, is hard at work on his '47 Chief, getting it ready for his ride home the next day. Steve spends alot of time finding all original parts for his motorcycles. Then unlike many enthususiasts, (who have 100 pt show bikes), he is constantly riding his 100 point restorations almost every day ! |

| Friday night met with the annual Flat Track races at the fairgrounds race track. They were extremely fun. Unfortuneatly, there were several accidents that delayed the races. This caused the cancellation of several of the main events due to time curfews impossed by the fair board. | |||
| In clossing for the day, I forgot to mention one thing. The
weather !!!! As you can see from the photos, there is not one dark cloud in the sky !!!!
The weather has been picture postcard perfect this year, unlike the mud puddles from '97.
Several people made comments about it being too hot ? We'll heat is much more tolerable
than sudden downpours ! Tommorow, I'll have pictures of the bikes in the show. |
