Davenport '98 - Day Four
The day started out early, 7am and now ends at 1am Luckily we made some good time today. We Started in Oklohoma City, and traveled on two of Oklohoma's Turnpikes at $8.50 per turnpike, and to save time we ate on the road stopping at this "World's Largest McDonalds" on the Will Rogers Turnpike.. |

One reason we made such good time today, is we never stopped at anyplace fun, Like Six Flags over St. Louis. Actually, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illionis were all very flat states, and our truck never slowed below 55mph through the ozarks, which were very pretty. |

Crossing the Mississippi River. The gateway to the East / West.. |

A full day of driving with no rain ! Amazing ! Let's just hope our luck keeps up especially in Davenport. Today ended up being a long driving day. We drove from Oklahoma City, OK - to Fort Wayne Indiana ! By the way watch out for the roads in Tulsa Oklahoma. They are some of the roughest yet of our trip ! |

The St Louis Arch in the distance as we pass through. Ok, now to answer your main question, If Davenport is West of the Mississippi River, why did we end up in Fort Wayne Indiana ? Tommorow, we are dropping 10 bikes at an auction in Auburn Indiana. This is a 7 day auction held at the Kruse International Auction site. It will also be broadcast live on Monday at 10am PST. This is the day the bikes will be auctioned. After we drop off the bikes tommorow morning, we will then make a bee-line for Davenport. It's approx 340 miles. This should be a piece of cake driving day compared to our last few days ! Stay tuned tommorow for some pictures of the Kruse Auction park. They are expecting 100,000 people at the auction on each day, with over 15,000 bidders each day. We should get some good pictures of some, Cords, Auburns, and many other expensive automobiles. I'll update you tommorow from Davenport !. |
