Davenport '98 Day Three

Well luckily for us, today was almost an uneventful day. We survived on frequent snack stops. Our favorite spot of course was Stucky's, who have a Dairy Queen inside. Just call us the junk food road hogs. Of course when we are twelve hours behind schedule, we have little time for long food stops..

We started our morning in Gallup, New Mexico. We quickly proceeded to Texas. We were suprised upon seeing such a small state sign. Since they say everything in Texas is Big. Needless to say we were disapointed.

Luckily, our disapointment did not last long. We then saw a bigger Texas state sign.

We started our day at 6:30am, and now it's 1:00am local time, and we are finally turning in for the night. We were able to make it from Gallup NM to Oklahoma City, OK. We were hoping for Tulsa but we were tired. When the truck only gets 4.5 - 5.5 mpg we have to make very frequent gas stops, every 200 miles. The above picutre is of the Oklahoma State Line as we were crossing. As you can see, we haven't gotten to see much of Oklahoma yet. But it's probably just like Texas, flat and boring.

Anyways, good night, and look for tommorows update, as we have another 14-15hr driving day ahead of us, and by then we will be back on our original schedule !
