1943 Indian 741 Scout

This is a 1943 Indian 741B. Engine and frame numbers match. The machine was purchased some time ago as a barn relic missing many vital parts. Parts were bead blasted to bare metal and primed and painted in authentic colors.

Fasteners were Parkerized as original. The engine was overhauled by a professional and the new cylinders bored to 37ci. All rotating parts were replaced or overhauled.

The gearbox received new bearings, the carb overhauled, the generator overhauled by a professional shop and a new wiring loom fitted along with a fuse in the main circuit. The speedo was rebuilt by Starklite as was the oil pump. The tail lamps are correct and the saddle bags authentic originals.

The big seat got a new cover stamped with the Indian logo.

This is a very reliable, easy to maintain machine. It usually starts first kick, and has the enough power for most day to day needs. I have bought a chief and need to part with this good looking bike. I have participated in many events and vintage 'bike and car shows and it is always a head turner.

Horn is not original, but I have the original that works (now and then). I chose safety over authenticity. Comes with parts and overhaul book.
